Hammond Farm Hersom Rd. ???
You're right. This was the Clifton Hammond Farm. Clifton had a machine shop in the long building to the right of the house. In the 1950s, My dad, Carroll Foren, & Clifton built a rock picker in that shop. Dad owned a farm across the road to the East.
Hello, 11-30-2016
Yes, this farm belonged to Clifton and Marion Hammond, my uncle and aunt. Clifton was a genius. He built most all of his farm equipment. My father helped him build the first potato harvester for his own use. Too bad he did not think to patent it. My family lived approx. one mile up the road going towards Rt. 1. Harold and Eleanor Hammond's (my parents) farm was on the opposite side of Hersom Road, it is now numbered as 182 Hersom Road and is no longer there. We lived there between 1945 through 1961. The Holmes family moved to the farm after we moved and they resided there for some time.
I am looking for photos of my parent's farm, 182 Hersom Road, Easton, Maine 04740. Farm buildings are no longer there. There were six buildings altogether. Please contact me if you know where I might find any photos at all. Thank you.
