The Wolverton Farm. Drs. Simms & Cenedella live here today.
Easton, Maine

My next door neighbor.

Spent a lot of time on this farm caring for Dr. Simms horses

Percy and Alberta place until purchased by Drs.

Yes, I have a connection to this photograph. My mother (recently passed 4/2016), the third youngest of eight children of Percy and Alberta Wolverton, lived in this beautiful homestead. Although I was raised in OK, I have fond, beautiful memories of the Wolverton farm. My husband and I were married on the coast of Booth Bay Harbor, Maine, August, 29, 2003. A few days later we drove to the family Wolverton farm. I wanted to show him the lovely farm and surrounding area. We walked up the path of the property to cross over to Canada. Then, the property care-taker allowed us inside the house, the kitchen area. How much smaller the kitchen area was compared to my child-like mind invisioned it......much, much bigger. I didn't ask to venture fur true out of respect to the owners. But how I wanted to see more of the family house. This family farm started my life with the desire to have a vintage home. Which I now have in CO. I'm not sure if Drs. Simms or Cenedella will ever read this. But my hope is for a connection and communication with the owners. And I wish and hope to visit and see the family home. This was my moms home. And I am connected. With family past.

Rebecca, Dr. Cenedella probably doesn't think to look at these old pictures. So the next time you are in Easton, contact the owners. My connection to this house is that Ann Dean Wolverton was a sister to my grandfather and she was your great grandmother. Ann Dean and George Dean were from Bairdsville, N.B. - just over the hill from River de Chute. In Easton's historic files there is a picture of her sitting on a chair in front of this house. My grandfather married twice. After his first wife and son died, he married my grandmother who was 30 years younger than he was. My mother was born when he was 60 years old. Thus when I line up great-grandparents, grandparents, etc. = a whole generation was skipped. It used to puzzle me that my mother's cousins were as old as her mother. And another confusing piece of this history is that my grandfather changed the spelling of his last name to "Dane." His father had married for the 2nd time and in his 2nd family, he and his wife named their son "George Dean" Thus eventually there was George Dean (50 yr)- my grandfather - and another George Dean (25 yr) in the same town with the same father. And to avoid confusion, he just changed the "letters" around.
