Jim and Marie Ashby Farm on Conant Road in fort Fairfield.

The Ashby family received a land grant of 600 acres to establish this farm in the 1800s. It was a grand place at the turn of the century; regulation tennis court in the trees and the works. Marie Ashby still lives on the farm today.

Absolutely! My dad grew up there...born in 1930; lived there and farmed there with his dad and brothers. It was Oaklawn Farms. He said the picture looks authentic! I had a lot of special memories there on the farm. My sister and I worked on the farm picking potatoes, harvesting, picking rocks, cutting seed, planting and swimming in the pond!
