This was once the town poor farm. It was owned by Richard and Irene King. Most of the outbuildings are gone. It is still in the King family. Centerline Road in Presque Isle.

In 1965 Clem & Helen King and Richard and Irene King lived in the large house. Clem had a dairy herd on the farm and you can see some of the Holsteins to the left of the barn. Spent many a day playing hide in seek around the barn. There were a million places to hide. After Clem & Helen moved to Easton Richard and Irene took over the house before they moved to their parents home a little past the Centerline Road on Rt.10. CJ and Jodi King made apartments out of the house.

Yes, I know this place very well. I grew up here from 1952 until 1970 when we moved to Easton. Farm was owned by my grandfather, Clem King Sr. My Dad had a dairy farm here and Gramp farmed some of it in potatoes. Large house(remembering the old plaster horse hair walls); Huge attic top floor. Big old wood furnace in basement; heat reached the living area via open registers - didn't reach second floor very well - quite cold up there in winter. There were 6 kids in my family and we eventually each had our own bedroom. - We lived in the big house part and our cousins lived in the smaller end. Large barn - spent many hours putting hay inside (LOTS of hay went into that barn that got stacked clear to the roof in the main barn.; feeding young calves and milking cows; washing milking equipment; sweeping barn floors; playing in hay loft with cats and kittens that lived out there. Smaller older building just to the right of garage used to be where we kept pigs. Played many long hours of 4 score ball game in yard. We used to play down back of farm(not shown) at the frog pond. Note the older house out back to the left - this is where the potato picker lived years back that my grandfather used to have come to help. Later we used it for storage. It is reported to be one of the older houses in PI. Some of the little buildings are gone now, but main house is owned by my brother who has made it into apartments.

Yes, that is definitely the farm I remember. My most vivid memory is the cat (or kitten) that ran sideways... Any other family member remember that?
