Herman Lamoreau farm. Later Merle Lamoreau Jr.
Charles Adams, my paternal great grandfather, built this house in the late 1800s. His parents homesteaded this farm in the 1850s. In the early 1900s, Charles owned several farms on Route 1a between this farm and Easton Center, four of which were purchased by his children between 1900 and 1920: Clarence Adams and Etta Lamoreau Adams purchased the Kemp Adams farm, Laura Adams Foren and James Foren purchased the Foren farm, Glenn Adams and Edna Foren Adams purchased the Glenn Adams farm and Charles Adams, II and Mary Dodge Adams, (Vernon's parents) purchased the farm where Brent Flewelling lives.
It is noted that Charles Adams' maternal grandfather, Edmmons Whitcomb, homesteaded the Kemp Adams farm in 1854 and Charles' father-in-law, Thomas Davis, homesteaded the farm where Brent Flewelling lives.
