Mabel Hopkinson was a teacher in Presque Isle High School when I attended in the 60's. She an her husband farmed this land but what a beautiful home they had.

I grew up in the house across the rd from there. Spent many days eating apples out of that orchard

The original McCarthy farm on the so called Mccarty hill in Westfield. Mrs. Hopkinson lived her after the McCarthy's, (she was my sophompre Algebra teacher). The Voisine family lived here when this pictrue was taken in the 1960's. Camille Sr was a potato grower, who was a family friend, and my sister and I picked potatoes on his farm in the fall. Barry Bartley owned this house in the early 1980's and I purchased it from him in 1984. I removed the white clapboards shown in 1985, and replaced with cedar shingles. Becky and I have remodeled the inside from top to bottom, and in 2013, we replaced the shingles with vinal siding, and all new windows. With this much blood, sweat and tears invested, we call it home.

The sister in question is Paula Brown Dodge.

My grandmother, Millie McCarty Hersey grew up in this house... Her parents were John McCarty and Catherine Almeda Redstone McCarty. Millie married my grandfather, Verde Hersey when she was 16 years old.
