Jack Ashley Farm on Parkhurst Siding Road in Presque

This farm was originally owned by Bill and Pearl Ashley, Jack's parents. My family rented the apartment upstairs back in the early 1960's. I have wonderful memories of growing up there. The porches facing the road were torn off some years ago. Most of the trees lining the road and driveway are gone. It doesn't look much like the grand old home it once was...

Thanks so much for posting this lovely picture of the farm. I remember when it looked like this. I wonder what year it was taken. I know I do not have a picture of the farm with all of these trees. The elms got Dutch elm disease and were cut down in 1969. That changed the look of the farm immensely. Since then most everything has changed. The barn and machine shed are no longer standing. The circular driveway is also gone. I have so many wonderful memories of this farm and of our farm life and of the Day family. Thank you, Deb!
