Where Waddell Rd meets the Dudley Rd. Penny and Bub Nadeau live here.
Yes that is where I grew up. I think Bub and Penny Nadeau(mom and Dad) bought this house in 1973?
It used to be Dana Dudley's. Probably Dudley's built it (Not Dana) but I do not know that for sure.
It's our house Bub and Penny Nadeau, bought it in April of 1974. it's over 100 years old, but the Dudleys did renovate it in the 40's I think
One of the Town Founders, T.K. Dow, lived here back in the 1800s as proven by a late 1800s Mapleton/Castle Hill town map. His many of his descendants living today know this as well. Likely T.K. built this home. His son John Baily Dow married Lucretia Ella Smith 1856-1900 (daughter of Isaiah D. Smith, sister to Edwin Augustus Smith and Charles Calvin Smith) lived here before 1900. Ella (went by her middle name) died in 1900. Their children include Warren, Charles, Thomas, Augustus, Marley, John, Eleanor, and Percy Dow. Pretty sure John and Ella's son John had the farm in the early 1900's. Sons Thomas and Marley lived and farmed in Mapleton all their lives and are well known to the town elders as are their children. Many mentioned here are buried in the Mapleton cemetery in the middle of the town.
