When I was a kid this house was owned by Birchard Higgins, if I have my stories straight this is the house where Jim Cullen was caught hiding in the cellar and as the story goes Ivan Sawyer had the musket that was used to coax him out. As I said, If I have my stories right!
This is the Jim Cullen house. Alan & Mary Michaud live there now. Not sure about the Ivan Sawyer part of it, Larry doesn't remember his grandfather telling that story.
I have a photo in a publication that shows Ivan holding a musket taller than he was and I think it said that it was the one that was used to coax Jim out of the cellar. All of my stuff is packed away because we are doing floors but when I run across the books I will confirm or correct the story on Ivan.
This is all correct.
We would love to see that picture, Alan! Such a neat part of history!
