The name escapes me but this is the home of the one armed man who did some of the best cedar chests and wood work that you can imagine.

I just had it come to me, I believe his name was Bill Ricker, not sure of the correct spelling.

Right Alan. I have a small chest of drawers he made with those inch pieces of lumber.
. nice beside my computer for paper and "things".

Yes, Mr, Ricker was a very talented man. My dad had him build me a cedar chest for graduation. I still have it 47 years later and it still smells like cedar inside. Dad had a small chest made for Mom. Rev. Ken & Verdie Fox lived in this home for several years when he pastored the West Chapman Advent Christian Church. Wonderful couple loved by many.

Our girls had so many good times in the Youth Center that was built in the upstairs of the garage when the Foxes lived here. I remember one time we were having a youth party and I got to the house early thinking I would make the Kool Aid before Mrs. Fox got there. Trouble was I used the wrong canister, it was salt! Great laugh but horrible Kool Aid!

It is owned by Randy & Laurie Stephenson now!

I still have the tack box that Bill made back in the '60's...Beautiful work he did.

The property in West Chapman, Maine was purchased in 2002 by Randy & Laurie Stephenson, we have been rehabilitating the property ever since. Numerous people have stopped by to visit us and tell interesting stories of the past. We have learned so much great history on the property from others who also enjoyed it as our family does now. WOW ... the internet is a valuable tool, I have been researching old documented history on the property and a have a few old photos but this is by far the best photo yet. Thanks for sharing comments.

My great grandparents home. Bill and Mary Ricker.
Grampie Bill lost his hand in the war, and had a hook which as a young girl I was scared of. He made lots of furniture including beautiful Adirondack chairs. I have a large cedar chest he had made my mother.
