This is my grandparents home in Perham, Maine on the Blackstone Road. The family homestead is down the road and the home of my aunt and uncle, Clayton, Sr. and Joyce Blackstone is across the road. Joyce Blackstone still lives in her house. My grandparents, Carroll and Glenna Blackstone built this house. They lived in it all their married life. The house now belongs to my brother and sister-in-law - Rev. Barry and Coleen Blackstone, who reside in Ellsworth, Maine. Our family loves this house; so many memories of family gatherings, dinners during harvest prepared by my Grandmother Glenna, and hours of conversation, singing, and listening to Grammie Glenna and my Uncle Paul Blackstone play the piano.
Wendell and I lived here with his parents the first year of our marriage. They were very gracious and there was never a cross word spoken that I can remember. They were loving and always willing to help out in any way they could. Sylvia was born while we lived here and also resided here for the first two months of her life. Many happy memories of this place and the ones who graced it.
My parents Kenneth and Dorothy Peary where very close to Carroll and Glenna and I took my mother here twice in her later years to visit Glenna.
