1518 Mapleton Rd (Main St) Mapleton Maine. The barn is still there but has many trees grown around it. Mapleton hardware used to be in this location and is now closed. Intersection of Grendell and Mapleton Rd.

Clayton Baird owned the place in the 60s

We lived up the Grendell Road on the now Jack Buck Jr. farm. I remember riding my bike down this road with my cousin Cam on the handlebars. We really picked up speed as we hit the hill and just before we got to this tree I lost control and we ended up in the ditch. Bike front wheel was bent so we had to push it back up the hill, painfully, because I had broken my wrist! This was around 1960.

I remember that like it was yesterday!

We've had some good times, right Cam!

So many memories! My childhood home on the corner. My parents David and Pauline McCausland, lived there til 1978

that was dads jeep wagoneer in the driveway;i was stll living their at the time many good times grow up there

we lived just down the street heading toward the Town of Mapleton. Sidney West was my dad. Our house was down the hill on the right.

This farm was bought or built by my 3rd great grand father's (Charles Calvin Smith) older brother Edwin Augustus Smith in 1871. He married Zana Chandler. Their 10 kids include Owen H. Smith (Harold and Lionel Smith's father) and Hazel Smith.

Hazel Smith married Aaron Dicker and they lived in this house for many years. Known as the Dicker farm for years.
