The house on the bottom left burnt down a few years ago. It was owned then by Mike True. Lester Dumond owned this house roughly from 79 to 01. Next door was Camille Deveau's house. The large building across the street was once the Lille Hotel as far as I remember Mr. Deveau owned this house it also burnt down in the fire that burnt down the True House. Direct across the street from the True/Dumond house was the Roger Beaulieu house.
correction the house on bottom left is still there . the one on bottom right is the one that burnt down
The former Lille Hotel building was owned by the Association culturelle et historique du Mont-Carmel. It had been donated by Marie-Paule and Dan LaPointe of Van Buren. The fire was in September 11, 2011. It was the 10th anniversary of 9-ll. Five buildings were lost. The Lille Antique Shop, the Barn belonging to the shop, The garage that was once the Benomie Dubay house, the house attached to the shop, and the former Lille Hotel across the street (flying "cinders" caught the roof) The Devost used the hotel as an elderly residence for a while.
