Edmon Guerrette
Edmund and Germaine Guerrette homestead
Remember visiting there. Was and still beautiful house, inside and out. My Father Jos Bourgoin and Edmund were cousins
We just purchased this home and love it. There have been changes to the front with bay windows and a covered porch and 3 car garage. The barn is no longer standing and in its place we have a large spring fed pond. If you have more history on the house we would love your comments.
This house was built in the c. 1850-1860s by my GGG Grandfather Jean Baptiste Guerrette (1813-1914) who intern relinquished the farm into his own son Jean Baptiste Guerrette( 1869-1956), my GG grandfather who was married to Desneiges Bosse. My Great grandmother Edith Guerrette Brissette, was born here in 1903. My grandmother, Doris Brissette Lagasse was also born here at her grandparents farm in 1929. Edmond was my great Grandmother's brother. Edmond's son Ronald, was the final Guerrette to own the family farm. The house is unrecognizable from its original blueprint. A full second story was added on both the main and kitchen wing, which you can see in this photo.
