This homestead was that of Marc Collin on brook road. Marc lived here till he move on main street in what was to become Raoul Collins his son home and is now Reno Pelletier home. When Marc left here his eldest son Edwin took it over and he later on moved to Madawaska and his daughter and husband stayed Loretta Collins Martin and Charlie Martin.. The house is now gone and the land is farm by Gerard and Betsy Raymond from Frenchville, I believe. Please feel free to correct me if I am wrong. I can't really place years except Dad was born in 1919 in this home.
About 100 yards to the right of this photo is where I grew up . Our house on the corner of Brook Road and Martin Connector is still there . My parents O'Neil and Albertine Chassé Martin bought our house in 1945 . My mother was born about 1 mile to the left of this photo in THE GREEN HOUSE on Brook Road . That green house is still there .
The road with the two white ruts lead to the potato fields and pass right by LE P'TIT CABOURON A M. EDWIN .. We would go to the CABOURON to harvest our yearly supply of D'LA GOMME D'EPINETTE . ( I think we did that in the Spring ) In the Summer time we would go on the CABOURON for picnics .
