Dennis Berube homestead on Lake Rd in Van Buren.
This was our homestead, I was raised here with 10 sisters and 2 brothers, the potato house near the road and the small shed behind the house is no longer there but the rest is still the same. Brings a lot of memories.
This was my grandparents home. My mother was one of 13 children. Number 7. Linda evans
I did not grow up in Van Buren , but I do know the Berube family well most of them around my age . Homerine who was the oldest I still keep in touch with her and we talk to each other from time to time , this Facebook is wonderful that 's how I reunited with Homerine and caught up on the family. In St-Leonard Velma Beaupre lives on the same street I grew up on. I knew Mrs Berube pretty well because we shared the same name ..
Used to remember seeing a dark bay horse in the pasture across the road from the house when I was young when riding on the school bus. Always loved horses. My grandfather (Wilfred Cyr) and dad (Jim Cyr) lived not too far from Dennis Berube, and Arsene Laplante lived next door to Berube farm. All these farmers were friends.
Dennis Berube is married to my cousin Diane Ouellette.
