The house in this photo burned down in 1982 when a tank truck collided with a passing train. A wall of flames went to the bottom of the hill before it burned itself out.
It was my house
It was my house too!!! :)
I thought this was Bridgewater!
My grandparents shared this house with my Great Aunt and Uncle. I was 5 yrs old when it burned down. I still remember visiting them there and the day it was lost.
The building on the opposite. sIde of the road ,flat roof, was My parents business, Merle and Madeline Stiles.
My dad sold Gulf gas, did mechanic work in the garage, had a small office where many of the men in town stopped in to visit.
In the back was a small apartment which was rented by different people over the years. Albert and Musa Stiles lived there for awhile. My grandparents, Eric and Mabel Stiles, also had a business there at one time.
Bradbury Brothers on the sign on the back building. On the left is a Nation Wide store.
