Can't remember the name of this old boarding/public house that stood just past Madden's store in Mattawamkeag. It was destroyed in a fire. In the foreground is the old truck weighing station. This is at the base of Webb Hill.

This building was originally the school in Mattawamkeag

I believe the mobile home you see beyond the old School house , winch Lawrence and Mary Severance bought, is where I lived as a child. The small units to the right , were motel units. Larry Severance had a store, gas pumps, apartments upstairs. His son Mike had a restaurant in the building as well.

They Sold this just prior to I-95 going through Medway, sad , all the small towns began dying shortly after this! I-95 made travel nice but took many towns Livelihoods with it !

I remember there used to be an antique store in the downstairs of this building. Think it was when Lawrence Severance owned it. I can still remember an old antique doll sitting in a high chair!
My Aunt and Uncle Elwood & Pauline Glidden and family lived upstairs. That must have been about 50 years ago.

The building large building was not destroyed by fire, it was torn down

I WENT TO THE FIRST GRADE IN SCHOOL IN THIS BUILING.

my grandmother Ethal (Wyman) Russell attended that school as did my mother Dora (Russell) Lee, I remember going in there as a Antique store, seen the old chalk boards that were still there. So sad when it was torn down. like everything els, never taken care of, so for safety, better off tearing it down than fall down.

In the foreground is the weigh station

i remember most of this even the weigh station

As near as I can make out by enlarging and enhancing the motel sign, it reads "Stag Motor Court" or some similar 4 letter name.
