Libby home on Crow Hill Rd. In Parkman, ME?

This is the Libby Homestead, bought in early 1900's by my grandfather Harry Libby and then upon his retirement it was purchased by my father Carroll Wayne Libby, Upon HIS retirement I purchased it from him to raise my family. The attached shed and the barn burned before I was born, and so the hay barn that was two fields away was dragged up to this lot and my father built a new shed and garage attaching the barn to the house once more. The little shed across from the house served as a garage as well as Wayne's blacksmith shop.

My fondest and happiest days of my childhood was spent here. Getting in all kinds of mischief with my cousins Carol and Duggy. The only place I was able to enjoy my adolescense.

I used to spend time up there with Alice Libby. Her Dad would give us a ride on one of the work horses. Alice and I liked to go out on the rock walls and look for old bottles. We grew in great times. Didn't need cell phones, etc. We just loved to go exploring. Sure do miss those days!

Home. It was a place to gather friends and family, sing dance, party
And if those walls could talk the stories it would tell. Not always happy stories but real. We lived it suffered it and laughed together. We grew together. Our shared experiences were maybe viewed differently, but they are ours and ours alone.
