On range road just across the Atkinson townline Former home of Donald and Lois Dow.
This homestead originally was my Great Grandparents Gerald and Louise Green. It was transferred to their grandson, Kenneth Green II in 1977 (Kenneth is the son of the legendary Dover-Foxcroft Police Chief Kenneth (Herb) Green I). My father Donald Dow (son of Gerald and Louiseâs daughter Alice) purchased the home in 1984. In 1997 my father sold the property to my cousin Danny Brawn (son of Aliceâs daughter Helen). I believe Danny transferred the property in 2008 or 2009.
Here is where Donald and Lois Dow raised their 2 children... Richard J and Melissa L... We purchased from Kenneth Green...in 1984...
This homestead was originally owed by Kenneth and Louise green. Later was transferred to their son herb green , then transferred to his son Kenneth green the second, then transferred to Donald Dow , then to Danny brawn. Then sold to Paul preble, then sold to unknown. Feb 14th 2015 written by lillian green mayo, daughter of Kenneth and Louise green
Wonderful memories of this home. I remember sitting on the front steps with my dad, Harold Roberts, visiting with Ken and Louise. I was just a little sprite, but vivid memories! It was a lovely home for Donald and Lois and family.
Before this it belonged to my grandparents, Norman and Melinda Green having bought it I believe in the 1920's after moving from South Dover. My father, Phil Green grew up here as did his brother, Wilson. Kenneth, my uncle, lived the next place up toward East Dover and raised his family there. After my grandmother, Melinda, died in 1953 (as I recall) my father sold it to Ken and Louise and the rest of the story is above. Gramp died in 1945 and Grammie lived there alone under of the watchful eyes of Ken, Louise, Lillian and my father until just before she died.
