This is my farm. Since the photo was taken, the house has been sided with natural stone. The barn sadly needed to be taken down. The cook kitchen, the building just to the right and behind the main house was taken down and the timbers and bricks from the cook kitchen were used in the main house. The stream house, just to the left of the barn, still has the stone foundation, but nothing else. Extensive work was done on the main house. It originally was a log cabin, and then a second log cabin was added to the right of the main cabin. This was probably some time in the 1800's. After that the logs were covered with German wood clapboard siding, as seen in this photo. Later asbestos shingles covered the wood siding, and then later aluminum siding was put up. Recently many layers of the siding were removed, the log foundation fixed and solid stone siding was added. Now the exterior walls are 15" thick.
