United States Post Office

Boxcar B&M Rail service. It was the end of the line in 1968. Boxcars came out of Somerville to as far as Topsfield. The line from Topsfield to the main line in Newburyport was abandoned in 1941, the steel rails used for war build up. As far as rail service for Topsfield, passenger service ended in 1959, freight service ended in 1981. The trackbed is now a surfaced rail bike and walking trail, Danvers to Topsfield.

Note the station wagon police cruiser parked on Main St in front of the Post Office parked facing the WRONG WAY. Hey come on guys lets have a little respect for the traffic laws.
