This is the former estate of Florence Bushes who donated much of her land for preservation purposes (e.g., Oldtown Hill Reservation now owned by Trustees of Reservations. Alas, all of the historic estate buildings of Mrs Bushee, a dedicated preservationist (except for the barn) were razed in recent years to make way for a subdivision of large modern homes. Newbury residents were in tears.
