Photo 50-RKE-3

Comments

Orlin and his wife Barbara with their daughter Esther moved here in 1950. He farmed the 19 acres with his parents who owned the 150 acres across the street. In 1958 the barn burned to the ground after being struck by lightening. Oddly not a drop of rain fell that day. Around that same time he purchased the Gulf Oil distributorship in Grand Rapids but continued to live here until his brother David and his wife moved into this house and continued to work the farms with their father. This house has since been sold as David lives in the big house with his wife.
