This property has always been in the Bristol family, even before Michigan was a state. It's one of the first land entries in Almont. I have a very old newspaper article (from the early 1900's) saying the little house on the right was built in 1827 and the oldest house in the county. It's still standing.

THE BRISTOL ORCHARDS.. 5639 VANDYKE.. ALL THE BUILDINGS ARE BEING DEMOLISHED THIS 2019.. EXCEPT FOR STONE HOUSE TO THE LEFT AND THE LITTLE HOUSE ONE THE RIGHT..

AS OF SUMMER OF 2020 PRETTY WELL ALL GONE.. THE BEAUTIFUL STONE HOME WAS DEMOLISHED IN THE SPRING/2020.. THE SMALL HOUSE ON THE RIGHT STILL THERE WAS ONE OF THE FIRST HOUSES IN THE AREA.. IT IS STILL THERE BUT THAT IS ABOUT ALL..
