Where Heritage Park now sits, north of M-59, east of Bullard.
Armstrong farm
Farm of Harold J. and Margaret T. Armstrong at 12665 Highland Road. The house was moved a quarter mile to the northwest in 1973 to make room for the westbound lanes of M-59. The horse barn (largest barn closest to the house) was moved the year before about four miles away up Fenton Rd. Mr. Armstrong was the Hartland Twp. Supervisor for more than two decades, and the family sold most of the farm to the township for the park when Mrs. Armstrong passed away in the mid-1990s.
1983? 59 didn't get widened until the 80's
Chris, you are correct that it wasn't 1973, but a couple years after that. I'll check with my mother and my aunt, daughters of Harold and Margaret, to figure out the correct year. The house was moved several years before the road actually was widened.
