At the time of this picture that was the Macomb County Road commission's Utica Garage in the center. To the left was the former Shelby Township Fire/Police/Municipal offices. It was still being used as an impound yard by the Police at this time.
49920 Van Dyke is the building with the awning (road commission's garage) and 49960 Van Dyke is the building directly to the north. A new facade was added to 49960 Van Dyke as was an addition to the rear. The buildings are on the east side of the street north of 23 Mile Road.
