My parents, uncles, and grandfather helped build this house. We moved into it October 31, 1974. My maternal uncle lived in the house to the east of us. My maternal grandparents lived in the house across from us on 19 mile road. The house has been resided. Most of the pine trees are now gone. The antenna on top of the house was called a moon rake I believe my dad and his parents talked a lot on the cb. The sliding glass door is gone and obviously the roof has been reshingled. The house was bought from Erb Lumber and was a 2 car garage package. We made it into a home, to others it was small to me it was roomy. It has been sold twice and recently the current owner opened up that home to my now widowed mother and myself the inside changes are staggering. It's beautifully redone...every nook and cranny holds a shadow of my past. When I looked out the windows I remember seeing grandpa puttering around. "If I could just come in I swear I'll leave, won't take nothing but a memory, from the house that built me.
