Hunter'sGroc&Hardw burned to the ground
I DID GROWN UP and went to Hunters store many times. Jean hunter and Harley were icons in Smiths Creek, Michigan.
cooler wires were responsible / as per State Inspectors' officer / determination .. so sad but no ONE was injuried Feb. } 1989 much------ free help and the Store ( PARTY_SIZE ) was rebult the following year. There was no << INsurance on the 100 yearold building....
Fred and Ron Hill were on the fire dept, at that time, they could here the gun shells exploding in the building, we lived ( I still do ) 254 Henry. Behind the store,,

I remember putting a party on in the hall in the white building. With a band. I think it was Ken and Mary’s store at the time
Looking south at Hunter's Hardware, a curbside Texaco station, and other buildings, located in unincorporated Smiths Creek, Michigan. The truck, just crossed the Grand Trunk Western Railroad, on Henry Street. Main Street parallels the tracks.
