Another view of the farm in photo #7.

This is the Hauk Farm and home built by Ross Hauk in the 1950s (the home at center in the trees). Ross was the son of Henry and Mary Hauk, one of the first farming families of Canton; the home Henry built is just a little further south down Ridge road (to the left of this photo) and was built in 1909. Both homes still stand.

The Hauk family was one of the largest corn growers in the state, which helped Michigan earn the title of "sweet corn capital of America". They also have operated "Mary's Farm Stand" on southwest corner of Beck and Ford Roads for more than 25 years.

In 2018, Ross' daughter Mary Hauk Hart sold the farm to developers after nearly 100 years of farming including six generations of the Hauk family. The farm stand on Ford Road remains seasonally.

As of 2023, the entire farm has been razed and only the home across the street remains. A sign on the lot where the barns once sat announces the development of the Blake Anthony Homes project.

703 S. Ridge Rd., Canton, MI 48188
