This farm was established in the mid-30's by George Anderson, although this land was originally homesteaded by Thomas Otrey around 1878. Thomas Otrey's homestead in section 21 was the first in this township, so apparently he moved here later. However, by 1899 this land was owned by Richard Chapman (one of the settlers from Cape Cod), who farmed the next quarter to the south. Chapman's farm was later owned by the Andersons, which was split up between Fred and George Anderson around 1931. Shortly after this, George & Mabel Anderson built this farm and lived here through the 60's. By 1976 it was the farm of Eldon & Carol Knutson (my father's third-cousins). Eldon still owned the farm in 1999, when David Dobmier lived there. I'm not sure who lives there now, but the farm is still mostly the same as it was in this picture.
