This is the Herman Hanson Century farm...there's a granite marker by the farm indicating that this was a century farm in 1993, so it follows that the Hanson's would have settled here in 1893. However, in 1899 and through the 1910's it was the Nels Pearson farm, so he may have been an ancestor of the Hanson's. It was likely farmed by Herman Hanson soon afterwards, as he owned it by 1931. Herman married Serena Hanson in 1919, and they continued to farm here for many years. By 1976, the farm was owned by Hanson's daughter Yvonne Sunnen, but the farm was vacant at that time and has been ever since. Today, only the grove and some grain bins remain.
