Hello,

It is quite amazing that you have a photo of this farm. My father has seen this photo and said that, due to the buildings present in the photo, was taken in the last years he and his family lived there. At the time this photo was taken, my father (17) was raising his two young brothers (6 and 8). His mother had left 4 years prior and his dad passed 2 years prior. Shortly after this photo, a teacher/preacher of his came to farm and told him and his brothers to pack their things because he was going to take them in as foster children. My father held onto the farm for two more years before enlisting and selling it. But he never returned to it after going with his foster father.

Since then, mennonites purchased the farm, tore down the buildings, and planted corn. This photo is the first my father and his brother have seen the farm since they left. My father has come a long way from not having enough money to keep the farm heated during the winter and having to check the traps at 3:30 every morning for dinner that night. He was stunned and entranced when he saw this photo.

Thank you,
Cole
