This is Main Street Matawan Minnesota, showing the grocery store and post office

Yes, the post office was in the grocery store run by Jim & Stella. Jim was both grocer and postmaster. The building on the left was Pearl's Cafe. Across the street, Bill Crumb's Hardware Store. A corner of Len's Place (tavern and service station) is barely visible in the lower center of the photo.

Jim and Stella Stutzreim ran the grocery store. I used to go there and buy "chum gum" where you'd get baseball cards with gum. To the left was "Hank and Pearls" bar/restaurant. Both of these places are now closed and the building has been converted to living quarters. The two building across the street, the hardware store and Len's Place are also closed. Not much left in Matawan now. :-(
