Farm was purchased by Godfried and Mary Harr at various times in the late 1800's and early 1900's. They had four kids Alvin, Glenn, Mabel and Leanna that grew up on the farm. The small barn in the middle of the picture with the metal roof on the roof extension was where all children except Leanna were born. It was originally across the crick until moved to serve as a barn.
Alvin married Vesta Harr and lived on the farm where they had a daughter Mary Ellen. They grew row crops and had cattle. There was a time that they also had dairy cattle. 1937 was a memorable year as Mary Ellen was born, they built the west barn and purchased a John Deere A.
Mary Ellen married William (Bill) VerMulm who continued farming the land and growing cattle. He also added hogs to the farm. He slowly retired from farming during the 1990's eventually renting the pasture and row crop land.
Currently the farm is owned by Mary Ellen VerMulm and children Greg VerMulm and Karen VerMulm.
