Is this possibly Long Cemetery at Bona? I have heard that it is accessibly only via a farm lane, and these look like old graves. My great-grandparents, Jonathan Harrison Stanley and his wife Mary Jane Vandergrjft Stanley, are buried in Ling cemetery. I have seen photographs of their upright tombstone, but have never been able to get in to see it.

No this isn’t the Long cemetery. We own the farm right next to the Long cemetery.

Marie, thank you for your comment. I have two questions. Do you know who I would contact to be able to visit the Long Cemetery? And, do you know what cemetery the one in this photo is? My father was born in Dade County, and his ancestors go back there as early as 1846. I live in Eastern MO, but try to visit the Genalogical society in Greenfield every year and explore what I can of the history of the Brown, Gilmore, Stanley and Burch/Birch families. If you don't know or don't want to respond, that's OK, but I just thought I would ask,

Judi Linville, I was intrigued by the name you mentioned. Jonathan & Mary Jane (Vandergrift) Stanley are part of my my family. According to my records they had 4 children: Emily, James, Bloomfield, & Robert.

Hi, Bea (Hill) Eaton; Jonathan and Mary Jane Stanley are my 2nd great grandparents on my dad's father's side of the family. According to my records, they had a total of 12 children. The ones in your records were all born after they moved to Missouri from Tennessee. In TN they also had Nancy Ann, 1839; Mary E. 1840; Jonathan Dillard, 1842; Martha Caroline (My great-grandmother) 1844; Margaret E. 1845; Amanda E. 1847; as well as Ezekiel, 1850; and Angeline, 1859, in addition to the four you have. Martha Caroline (she is listed as Catherine in the 1850 census!) married Walker Burch in 1866 and they had a number of children, the youngest of which was my grandfather Hugh Burch. If you by chance have any information about Johnathan Harrison Stanley's family, I would love to correspond with you. I have him born in Grainger Co., TN in 1818 and that is all. I think I find him in Cannon Co TN in 1840. My DNA test says I'm related to descendants of a Thomas Stanley, who I think might have been Jonathan Harrison's older brother, but so far tracing him back has been a brick wall. My email is judi_linville@yahoo dot com.

I believe this is the Bethlehem cemetery. We live just Northwest of this location. The cemetery has a new gate compared to this photo.
