We now live here. When we bought it from the Oberwortmann’s in 1984, we started remodeling it for more modern living. But we tried to keep a lot of the old charm. The big part of the house on the right is a 2 story log cabin covered over with clapboard. It makes it look like a salt box style house. The heart of the house was an old tiny French trapper’s cabin built in “Ste. Genevieve” style with upright posts on the ground filled by mud and straw between them. That is now only visible down ion the cellar. It became part of a new bathroom on the main floor.

We love this old place.
