I’m relatively certain this is the former residence and farm of Ethel McDonald, located along that portion of Green Grove Road between Oak Dale Road and Potter Road, three miles northwest of Latham, MO. It’s former address was Route 1, Tipton, MO. I came to know Mrs. McDonald (a widow), as a youngster of age 6 in 1953 when my grandparents, Kenneth and Teena Wilhite, bought the farm on Green Grove Road lying just 200 yards to the east. The farm lying just to the north was owned by Mrs. McDonald’s son, Earl and his wife, Katie. Mrs. McDonald passed away in the mid-1980’s, and her home – along with her barn and other farm structures, were abandoned. Having fallen into a serious state of disrepair, they were subsequently demolished. No traces of the farm exist today.
