Deer Run Branch Library was opened in 1995 on the north side of O'Fallon. When it opened with computers for the public, the Internet was just becoming popular. The area for little kids featured a Reading Cabin and Thomas the Tank Engine Table provided by the Friends of the Library. Videos, books on cassette and CD, then DVDs were important additions to the book collection.
The library is still one of the best ways for residents of St. Charles County to see their taxes at work.
