My Grandparents, Millard & Imogene Swank owned this farm and my Dad, Eldon Swank, grew up here. I spent many childhood days here running up and down the lane to the mailbox, fishing, gathering eggs, playing in the meadow, and riding the tractor to the field and back. my Grandparents had a huge garden as well as a truck patch and an enormous strawberry bed. The creek ran through this farm and i spent many days with my brother and sister and grandparents swimming in the creek. Just about every Sunday was spent here after church, enjoying a big Sunday dinner and then sitting under the big old oak tree. Christmas Eve was always spent here at 6pm sharp every year. Always had a real cedar tree decorated and tons of home made candy. As a child, my Dad walked miles to a country school called Eggleston. This photo brings back lots of wonderful memories of my childhood, but also brings tears to my eyes, as all the buildings, including the house, are gone now.
