Robert Johnson Farm. In the family from 1865-1980's
I grew up here. 5 Generations of Johnson's grew up on this farm and before that it was owned by John Pickens of Heuvelton. The horse barn used to be where the machine shed is. They attached the two barns together to make one long one after the 1920s. The Silo was built in the 1960's by Raymond Johnson and others and the Machine shed was built in the late 1960's to early 1970's. The original house burnt in Feb. 1978 and replaced by a pre-fab home built by John Newtown's crew and my Father. It was a 2 family dwelling when built. My Uncle Allen Johnson lived on the left and we lived on the right side of the house. My Father sold the farm in the 1990's if my memory is correct. The first new owner in abt 130 years. It currently is not being used as a milking farm and only one family lives there.
