Hi Bobby! Thank you for sharing those fascinating details about the Marlette family farm in Alamance County. It's amazing to hear about the history of the old family home and the newer one built later on. Do you have any memories or stories from growing up on the farm? We would love to hear about the farming practices or any changes you may have witnessed since the photo was taken in 1982.
My great aunt and uncle's farm. Fond memories of visiting them ss a child
Ernest and Lenna were my paternal grandparents, and we visited the farm during most summer vacations. I worked on it during a few summers during my teen years, helping mainly with the tobacco harvest and sometimes with the sweet potatoes. They also grew soybeans and a number of other crops. Some of my fondest childhood memories were hanging out with my cousins on the farm.
