All the houseboats were removed when this area was developed by Jim Smith Developers of Spartanburg, SC around 1996. Where the beach is located is now private docks belonging to Lake Adger Property Owners Association. A boat ramp to the west is public but the red barn was moved west to Palmer Road and is now privately owned. The area of water has silted in and is soon to be dredged by NC Wildlife within the next few years. Very interesting picture
