Typical 1950's motels on opposite sides of US-40 most likely built before I-70 was built through there. Neither motel which is still standing. The motel at the top has been replaced with a modern Knights Inn while the motel at the bottom is a parking lot for the NAPA Auto parts store behind where the motel stood.
