The address of this property was 6031 Bane Road NE, Mechanicstown, OH 44651. It was owned and farmed by my grandparents, Alfred D. and Orah A. Toalston. They raised five children here. My father, Clifford, born in 1922, was the oldest. Alfred died in 1987, and the farm was sold at auction in April, 1987. My siblings and cousins have fond memories of good times on Sunday afternoon visits to the farm; Easter and Thanksgiving feasts; summer "vacations" at Grandpa's, and helping Grandpa and Grandma with hard work from time-to-time. A piece of family lore, told over and over again, began when my young cousin, Lon, upon learning that his family was going to the farm, sang, "There's nothing to do on the farm. There's nothing to do on the farm." The only building standing today is the white garage structure that is in the middle-left of the picture.

Your grandma and my grandma were sisters....I remember going to this farm.
