Shepard Grain elevator at Lincoln and Pike Street. The circular brick structure at the right is the "cob burner" Corn cobs would be blown through the tube from the shelling area to the burner and burned.
We used to go there and gather gunny sacks of cobs for starter fuel for coal or wood burning furnaces for ourselves and some elderly neighbors.
