Washington Township #5 /McClure School (it is the square in the top left corner of the current building with an angled roof.) It was significantly expanded in the 1950's to became the Washington Township Rural School consolidating all of the students from the rural one room schools in the township. It eventually merged into the Greenville City School district in the early 1960's where it served as Washington Elementary School until the 1980's.
that is the correct place for Washington School. I drove bus for this school.
Wow! What a change! I started school and went through first, second, and half the third grade in the angled roof section - and that is all that was there! three classrooms (1-2, 3-4, and 5-6). The gymnasium was the fence enclosed yard.
