Gilbert and Winifred Singer home back a long lane on Gipe Rd., Ney, Ohio. House burned down in winter 1981 due to chimney fire. Nothing remains today.
I spent a lot of time at my grandparents home. As a child I remember using the out-house, which someone stole years after my grandparents passed. The house was hugh! They raised chickens, hogs etc, had gooseberry bushes, grapes vines, big garden and beautiful flowers. My grandparents cared for me before I started school, while my parents worked, everyday after lunch, grandpa and I would walk the long lane to get the mail. We kicked stones, watched for critters, picked up sticks and giggled a lot. He taught me how to safely cross the road and to watch for cars. Then we walked back to the house and took a nap.
Treasured memories
