This farm on Waterford Road, just northwest of Waterford, was purchased by Floyd and Geneva Snell around 1954, where they finished raising their children: Dale, Darrell, Barbara, Sandra, Sevilla, Sam, Frank, Chuck, Gene, Cheryl, and Janenne. The farm was said to have originally been deeded to Revolutionary War veteran John Ackerman where he built a log cabin on the land around 1811. The original barn was destroyed by a fire in 1970. Geneva Snell sold the farm to William and Shirley Burgett in 1997. The house has been replaced by a large modern dwelling which is owned by Matt & Mandy Wuchinske. Mandy is a ninth generation descendant of the original owner, John Ackerman.
