This is where I grew up. Farm is owned by Ron Klein.

I grew up here as well. From 6 years old to this day. My Dad of same name bought in 1970.

Jason and Ron are you of any relation? It would be interesting to have a timeline for the history of this photo. Jason what years did you live here? Ron what year was it when you were 6?

Yes, Jason is my nephew. We lived there at the same time, for our first couple decades. I live on adjacent hunk of it, Jason still in same township but cpl/few miles away.

Jason in house on left as pulling up driveway. With his brothers Zak (oldest) and Seth (youngest). All are still nearby.

I am their uncle, youngest of 6. Kath (Zak, Jason & Seth's mom, who still lives there to this day) is the oldest child. Then is Fred, who lived in upper right house for a time (and is still nearby) with our grandpa George (b1899, d1988). Then is Lynne, who lives in house furthest right to this day. Then is Grace, who lived with Lynne our first years there (and is still nearby). Then Steve and myself lived in the house nearest the road (and on the right), with our folks, as we were but 6 and 8 yrs-old at the time.

A man named Bratton owned it for many decades prior, our family since late 1969/early 1970. Jason's eventual house was in the best move-in condition, so folks and Steve & I moved into it/onto property. Immediately (as needed) some refurbishment to the other houses made them ready to move into, all within months. Hence all others were into their houses shortly thereafter (from a Newark house). Kath & her boys had been living in another Newark house, she sadly divorced shortly into the venture. We all transplanted from Cleveland 2-3 years prior in 1967.

Slaughterhouse in low right still exists as was a working farm. Milk house, unassisted (non-mechanical) artesian spring to this day, barn, out bldgs, chicken coup, & were rows of dozens of apple trees, pear & cherry tree (pear survives, some apple trees), and 6-acre hayfield. We had horses, chickens, cows. Time & passing of our folks Ron & Anne, yet Steve and myself also had houses built on the ends of the 50+ acres. Steve very sadly lost, yet his widow/daughter(s) still resides. 1 daughter living/working in CO at present. And myself with my gal partner of 17 years.
